Location. The Palms South Beach, located in Miami Beach, Fla., is a beachfront hotel positioned on the tranquil northern end of South Beach and the Art Deco district. Miami Beach Convention Center and Jackie Gleason Theatre are located less than two miles from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The hotel offers a stylish mix of South Beach chic, southern grace and tropical island charm, with terracotta tile floors and cane chairs accented by fresh orchids and bamboo. The Dining Room specializes in Mediterranean fare with a focus on seafood, while the quaint Veranda Bar features ceiling fans, and serves drinks and appetizers. A thatched roof tiki bar serves cocktails and light snacks, and offers entertainment via three flat screen televisions. The hotel provides 11,000 square feet of function space. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. Personal thatched roof huts, hammocks, a poolside bar and tropical birdsong set the scene at the outdoor pool. Complimentary yoga sessions are offered poolside on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A fitness center contains treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers and free weights. Hotel concierges arrange tee times and special rates for play at two nearby 18 hole golf courses.
Guestrooms. This 12 story hotel offers 243 guestrooms that draw upon the soft hues of sand and sea with custom designed wood furnishings and neutral tan and island white fabrics. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses. Bathrooms contain bathrobes, slippers and Aveda products. Room amenities include CD players and MP3 adaptors. Minibars are provided. Cable television and complimentary wireless Internet access are available.
Expert Tip. The Palms South Beach features the only cove inlet along Miami Beach. Inside the small rock jetty, the water is calm and shallow, allowing swimmers to venture further into the ocean. Food and beverages are served on the beach.
