Location. The Allerton Hotel overlooks Lake Michigan, just one quarter mile from the John Hancock Center in downtown Chicago, Ill. Millennium Park, Navy Pier and the Art Institute of Chicago are one mile from the hotel. Sears Towers and Shedd Aquarium are within a two mile radius of the hotel. The hotel provides airport transportation for a fee.
Hotel Features. The Taps On Two restaurant and lounge serves casual Chicago fare and signature cocktails amidst pub style dining. A Starbucks kiosk is also on the property. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel's public areas, including the meeting rooms and business center with photocopy and fax services. A health club on the 25th floor of the hotel provides cardiovascular equipment and a sauna with panoramic views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. A gift shop is on the property. Babysitting services are available through the hotel upon 24 hours of notice.

Guestrooms. The 443 guestrooms at The Allerton Hotel feature cable television and high speed wired and wireless Internet access for a fee. Safes are provided in each guestroom. Coffeemakers are also available.

Expert Tip. Opened in 1924 as an elite residential club, the Allerton re opened in 1999 after a multimillion dollar renovation restored the decorative brickwork and carved stone of its Italian Renaissance exterior. The hotel retains the neon sign advertising its famous Tip Top Tap lounge, a nationally renowned big band venue in the 1940s.
